- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoDismenorrea en adolescentes(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) Cajas Peláez, Darwin Ismael; Cajas Peláez, Darwin Ismael; 0302880885; ., .Dysmenorrhea among teenagers constitutes a pelvic cache related with menstrual cycling according to the Association of Pediatrics Health Care of Madrid – Spain with multiple origins, one of them is an excessive generation of prostaglandins which helps in the uterine muscle contraction, leading to the degree of pain and lifestyle effects. According to the ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists), between 50% and 90% of teenagers experience symptoms during menstruation, which can be diagnosed and identified as primary or secondary dysmenorrhea through a suitable diagnosis by a healthcare professional. The main objective of this bibliographical review is to define dysmenorrhea in teenagers, a pathology that is often underestimated due to multiple factors. The methodology employed was descriptive and explanatory, where a bibliographical review was carried out, considering inclusion criteria, by using published information in scientific articles, conference papers, undergraduate and graduate theses, gynecological guides, among others, related to the topic under research, either in Spanish or English, published within the last 5 years, excluding bibliographies that do not meet the above parameters, finally the research included the conclusions according to the objectives set out; The intention of the document is to contribute to create truthful, current contribution for healthcare professionals and population in general interested in expanding their knowledge on the topic.
