The objective is to determine the level of knowledge and practices in sexual and reproductive health in the indigenous population of San Rafael, province of Cañar in the period of September 2018 - February 2019. The methodology used was quantitative descriptive, the sample consisted of 187 inhabitants between men and women of childbearing age from 15 to 45 years old. The sexual and reproductive health survey was used, prepared by the authors, the instrument previously validated by experts. The descriptive statistical analysis was worked with the statistical package of SPSS version 23. The results are: of the 187 respondents 19% correspond to the ages of 25-29, prevailing with 66% corresponding to the female gender and 34% of the population corresponds to the masculine gender, 47% of the surveyed population are married, in terms of occupation 30% of the population surveyed are students. 86% have knowledge in sexual and reproductive health, 14% of the study group has no knowledge; on the use of contraceptive methods it was obtained that 58% claim to use some method, the most used was the condom with 27% that is also combined with the implant in women with 18%.
