- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoEl Perfil de hombres agresores y los programas de intervención en casos de violencia de género(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Caguana Gómez, Karla E.; Galán Medina, David I.; Rodríguez Reyes, María J.; 0106146822; 0105909675This literature review presents an analysis of male aggressor profiles and psychological intervention programs aimed at helping to prevent or stop violence against women. This study aims to describe the profile of male aggressors in a relationship and to distinguish between the different intervention programs. It is a literature review, a qualitative approach study of descriptive scope. Current articles were analyzed from 2017 to 2022 with a study population of male aggressors older than 18 years and programs designed to determine the profile and behavioral model of rehabilitation. To achieve the aforementioned, it was proposed to analyze the profile of male aggressors and the intervention programs in processes of gender violence; 45 research studies were selected. With the bibliographic contributions, it is possible to infer that male aggressors' profile derives from different social, personal, family, and substance use factors, all of which contribute to the onset of violent behavior in the aggressor; furthermore, according to a ranking, the most violent aggressor is usually the anti-social or general aggressor who has a criminal record, sexist ideologies and low empathy. Most intervention programs focus on the cognitive-behavioral model to modify violent behavior. However, several studies recommend that for positive results to be achieved, treatment should focus more on motivational strategies.
