Therefore, this study proposes using rice husk ash (RHA) as a substitute for the mineral Filler. This work aims to analyze rice husk ash's behavior as a replacement material for the mineral filler in an asphalt mixture in conjunction with aggregates primarily of sedimentary composition. The Marshall method will be employed under parameters established by the Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP by its Spanish acronym) to accomplish this. Mixtures were prepared with different asphalt content percentages: 4.5%, 5%, 5.5%, 6%, and 6.5% (a total of 45 briquettes), using materials with 50% fines and 50% coarse mix, 60% coarse and 40% fines, 55% fines and 45% coarse; with the latter dosage proving to be the most favorable in determining that the optimum asphalt percentage to use is 6%. Next, with the optimal asphalt percentage from the standard design, RHA was incorporated as a substitute for filler in proportions of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%. A total of 15 briquettes were prepared with added RHA. The main result is that the optimal asphalt percentage is 6%, with an additional 20% RHA.
