Overview de sus características clínicas.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Cárdenas Molina, Carlos Andrés; Crespo Crespo, Cristina Mercedes; 0106544836; ., .OBJECTIVE: To determine the correct diagnosis of Eagle Syndrome and/or ossification of the Stylohyoid Ligament, based on clinical criteria and radiological studies, to conduct a differential diagnosis. METHODOLOGY: Keywords were used according to MeSH and DeCS descriptors, and information was collected from the following databases, Redalyc: Stylohyoid Ligament, Eagle's Syndrome, calcification of the Stylohyoid Ligament. Medigraphic: Stylohyoid ligament calcification, mineralization, and Eagle's Syndrome. SciELO: Calcification of the stylohyoid ligament, ossification of the stylohyoid ligament, stylohyoid ligament. PubMed: Eagle's pseudosyndrome, Eagle's syndrome, calcification of the stylohyoid ligament, ossification of the stylohyoid ligament. Combinations were employed with the AND and OR Boolean operators. RESULTS: The most frequently found symptoms in the articles were dysphagia, pain in the lateral neck area, and a sensation of a foreign body in the throat; different lengths of the styloid process were associated with varying symptomatology. CONCLUSION: Ossification of the stylohyoid ligament and Eagle Syndrome are multifactorial pathologies that predominantly affect females aged 30 to 60, especially those who have undergone tonsillectomy; so referring to symptomatology, it is no longer known as calcified stylohyoid ligament but, it is recognized as Eagle Syndrome, with symptoms such as headache, dysphagia, sensation of a foreign body in the throat, and
