Ítem Acceso Abierto Complicaciones de la enfermedad de Parkinson relacionadas con la infección por SARS-COV-2(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Bermeo Castillo, Karen Elena; Rea Hermida, Danilo Fernando; 0107184954Background: SARS-CoV-2 is the origin of COVID-19, which was registered in the city of Wuhan-China for the first time in December 2019 (1). The impact of this new pathology in patients with Parkinson's disease was negative, since it exposed the development of serious complications after this infection, leading to a greater impact on the quality of life of these patients (2). Objective: To describe the complications of Parkinson's disease related to SARS-CoV-2 infection. Materials and methods: A Bibliographic Review was carried out, through a search in databases. Where studies published between 2019 and 2022 were included, which meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and report on complications in patients with Parkinson's disease. Results: The complications caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection and their prevalence in patients with Parkinson's disease, as well as the mortality of patients with Parkinson's disease infected by SARS-CoV-2. Conclusions: The motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease were affected by the SARS-CoV-2 infection, among the symptoms with the highest prevalence of complications were sleep disturbances, mood disturbances, bradykinesia, rigidity, tremor, gait abnormalities
