Ítem Acceso Abierto Enfermería en el uso de métodos anticonceptivos en adolescentes de Latinoamérica(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) Auquilla Tenesaca, Fanny Dolores; Tuba Chicaiza, Jessica Natali; Pesántez Calle, María Fernanda; 0106353147; 0150102903Nursing personnel provides professional care in different fields, one of which is directing and instructing in the decision-making process of protective and responsible behavior in the exercise of adolescent sexuality. Objective: To conduct a literature review on nursing in the use of contraceptives in adolescents in Latin America. Methodology: A literature review was performed in the following scientific databases: Scopus, Science Direct, Taylor & Francis, Web of Science, Pubmed, Proquest, ResearchGate, Dialnet, Medigraphic, Scielo, selecting 53 articles, in addition, documents from different health authorities in Latin America and the Pan American Health Organization were included; in several languages, updated bibliography of the last five years, except for the guidelines that do not have updated and relevant articles that allow answering the questions posed in the research. Results: The research found that the contraceptive methods most used by adolescents are condoms and emergency contraception. Similarly, the associated factors are linked to the level of education, gender, lack of knowledge, relationship stability, and religion; the consequences of not using methods include unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections; the practical guides are guidelines used in most Latin American countries; the role of nurses plays a fundamental role in adolescent sex education. Conclusion: The nursing staff performs educational interventions and counseling on contraceptive methods to provide guidance aimed at adolescent sexual health.
