Ítem Acceso Abierto Intervenciones de enfermería en cáncer de ojo(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Argudo Ortega, Yeslania Joselyn; Loja Buestan, Andrea Patricia; Puente Arroyo, Anita; 0105847198Ocular malignant tumors encompass a wide range of conditions that can cause vision loss, disability, and visible deformities. In cases of advanced malignancy, metastasis can occur, potentially leading to fatality. Cancerous eye diseases can affect the eye itself, as well as the surrounding skin, orbit, and appendages. Objective: This study aims to provide information on nursing care for patients with eye cancer. Methodology: The research conducted is a bibliographic review, which involved analyzing scientific articles obtained from various databases such as Medigraphic, PubMed, Redalyc, SciELO, Scopus, ProQuest, among others, available at the Catholic University of Cuenca. Keywords used for the search included "Cancer," "Eye," "Prevalence," "Complications," and "Nursing care." Boolean operators such as "AND," "NOT," were used to formulate search equations, resulting in the following combinations: Eye cancer AND Prevalence, Eye cancer AND Complications, Therapeutic approach AND Eye cancer, Nursing care AND Eye cancer, Eye cancer NOT Infant. Results: Ocular and adnexal cancers account for approximately 1% of all cancers in the United States and the United Kingdom and less than 0.1% of all cancer-related deaths. Diagnosing and treating these conditions present significant challenges and potential threats to both patients' visual acuity and their overall appearance. Conclusion: The implementation of multiple treatment modalities has contributed to reduced mortality rates, particularly in developed countries.
