Revisión de la literatura(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Amaya Montero, Gilberth Mauricio; Alvarez Alvarez, Diana Patricia; 0106483696Minimally invasive endodontic treatment is a procedure that differs from conventional endodontics. It involves the process of conservative access to the interior of the tooth and eliminates the minimum amount of healthy tissue with small incisions to locate the canal system, biomechanical preparation, and subsequent obturation using current methods and materials, both radiographic and instruments, that allow the clinician and the patient a successful therapy. This literature review aimed to analyze the available scientific evidence regarding new minimally invasive endodontic treatment techniques. An exhaustive search of scientific articles up to 10 years old was carried out through digital databases such as Google Scholar, SciELO, PubMed, digital repositories, and indexed 4 journals provided by the virtual library of the Catholic University of Cuenca to obtain relevant information on non-invasive endodontic treatment. In conclusion, non-invasive endodontics focuses on preserving of healthy dental tissue with materials and new procedures for the correct diagnosis, access, approach, disinfection, and obturation appropriate to the need of the tooth. Success depends on the correct performance of the clinician and the proper use of the systems developed for the treatment.
