Ítem Acceso Abierto Fatiga por compasión en el personal de salud: revisión bibliográfica.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Alvear Velez, Luis Y.; Rodas Mosquera, María L.; 0941059248Compassion fatigue (CF), also known as empathy burnout, is a type of discomfort that afflicts any individual exposed to the suffering of others; such a situation has been studied more in the field of health professionals, as they are continuously exposed to the distress of their patients, which can cause emotional and social symptoms. The present qualitative literature review was proposed to assess the forms of treatment of such discomfort, whose general objective is to describe resources for treating CF in health personnel. The goals are to define CF, its dimensions and consequences, evidence resources for preventing CF in healthcare workers and identify treatment methods. For which a review of different scientific sources such as Scopus or Web of Science was made, finding various ways to prevent CF, such as specific and non-specific self-care or monitoring of symptoms; among the forms of treatments were found, the use of mindfulness, art therapy, CBT, ERT, logotherapy techniques, and psychoeducation. Similarly, it was found that more than one study recommends that an adequate approach to empathy burnout requires the active participation of professionals, including topics about their work, the use of group cohesion, and the possibility of them developing their ways of coping with stress.
