Ítem Solo Metadatos Arte terapia en la calidad de vida del paciente oncológico pediátrico .(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Alvarez Sarmiento, Maria A.; Calva Arevalo, Katy V.; Tamayo Piedra, Monica.; 1900727858; 0106351513This research focuses on the analysis of art therapy as an intervention resource to improve the quality of life of pediatric patients in Ecuador and Latin America. The main objective of this research is to substantiate the benefits of art therapy and its impact on the quality of children’s life. This therapeutic discipline will be analyzed in depth, exploring its key concepts, qualities, dimensions of well-being, and the intervention techniques used. The approach will be based on a descriptive bibliographic review, using virtual libraries such as Medline, Elsevier, SciELO, Scopus, Web of Science, Dialnet, PubMed, and the main university repositories of Ecuador and Latin America. The keywords cancer, pediatrics, and art therapy will be used to select articles, applying inclusion and exclusion criteria to understand how art therapy can improve the quality of life of pediatric patients. Art therapy has been used in hospitals in the US and the UK for over 50 years and is now integrated into the healthcare system as an additional service for patients. This discipline has been shown to be effective in improving children's quality of life by giving them the opportunity to express their emotions creatively and by motivating them to engage in activities that give them a sense of control and motivation during therapy. When combined with other medical and psychological approaches, art therapy offers children collaborative support to improve their emotional health and overcome challenges they may face.
