Objective: To determine the consumption of alcohol and its relationship with mental health in adolescents of the Guapán Educational Unit, period May-October 2019. Methodology: correlational study, allowed to identify the relationship between alcohol consumption and mental health in adolescents studying in the Guapán Educational Unit, non-experimental cross-sectional, the sample was made up of 185 adolescents belonging to the tenth year of basic and high school general education of the Guapán Educational Unit. As a technique the survey was used, questionnaire instrument AUDIT- Test PQH9 Depression screening. For the analysis of the information, we worked with the statistical programs SPSS and Microsoft Excel 2016. Results: of the 185 adolescents, 27.6% belong to the age of 17 years, with the female gender prevailing with 51%, 98.4% of the population are single, in terms of education level 68.6% they belong to the baccalaureate, 76.8 live with their parents, 62.2% have ingested alcohol once in their life. The mood they have presented once ingested alcohol is 20% confusion and 10.8% depression, autolytic attempts 15.6%. 56.7% have a degree of depression.
