Emotional Intelligence within education is essential in making students feel self-confident by controlling their emotions to acquire meaningful learning. This research addresses the issue of emotional Intelligence and academic performance in students of the Education career at the Catholic University of Cuenca, Azogues, 2022 school year. This study aimed to analyze Emotional Intelligence and its impact on academic performance in students of the Education career at the Catholic University of Cuenca, Azogues. This research was framed in the non-experimental quantitative design, descriptive in nature, a survey was applied as an instrument of data collection under the Likert scale to 38 students, a problem was evidenced in their academic performance because they do not feel positive attitudes when facing an exam, students think they are not able to get good grades, and cannot express themselves emotionally, it is important to work within the classroom Emotional Intelligence to achieve an excellent academic performance.
