Ítem Acceso Abierto Niveles Séricos de Testosterona en Cavia Porcellus Tratados con innosure y su influencia sobre el desarrollo productivo(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Chicaiza Méndez, Josue Daniel; Valverde Molina, Melky Rolado; Cuenca Condoy, Mercy del Cisne; 1501166019; 0106076615This research aimed to evaluate the effect of the variation of serum testosterone levels in guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus) treated with different doses of Innosure and its effect on product development and regulation of social behavior. Eighty-one 21-day-old guinea pigs from the Peru line were used, divided into three treatments: T0 (control), T1 (0.10 ml of Innosure), and T2 (0.20 ml of Innosure), including densities of 6, 9, and 12 animals. The dose of Innosure was applied at 50 and 80 days of the age of the animals. The variables studied were: testosterone levels, productive parameters, and aggressive behavior. The results showed that the productive parameters of the guinea pigs treated with Innosure were not significantly affected (p>0.05); however, the density managed reflected a positive effect on this variable, reaching the highest carcass weight (6 animals) with 706.28 g and a feed conversion ratio of 3. Testosterone levels of the guinea pigs did not decrease significantly with the application of the vaccine, nor did the aggressive behavior. It is concluded that the Innosure vaccine does not effect on productive parameters, does not regulate the social behavior of the species, and does not decrease testosterone levels in guinea pigs. Keywords: Cavia porcellus, Innosure, productive parameters.
