Ítem Solo Metadatos Software para gestión de historias clínicas odontológicas(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Chillogallo Campoverde, Kevin Alfredo; Sánchez Encalada, Hugo Wilfrido; Ávila Correa, Blanca Lucia; 0107154270; 0106478365This present paper corresponds to the development of a Dental and Periodontal Medical Histories Management System designed to respond to the necessity of the Observatories Network of the UCACUE, with the gathered information to carry out research related to oral health trends and epidemiological analysis. The main objective of this research was the software creation to provide the dental clinics of the institution to improve their management. The study was based on an applied research methodology and it was implemented using the Scrum approach. The study results indicate that the developed software product accomplishes with the requirements of the key users who have positively evaluated the first version of the product in terms of use ease, response time, performance, efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness in activities related to dental clinics performed by university students and supervised by teachers. This software product is a potential tool to contribute significantly to informed decision-making regarding dental treatment and controls, as well as to improve the quality of care and patient perception. In addition, it will facilitate the researches conducted by the institution’s network of observatories, with the possibility of providing valuable information to public health institutions. However, it should be noted that it is the first version of the product, and there is a necessity to implement new requirements and improve aspects related to information security in future iterations.
