Objective: To determine the prevalence of the consumption of psychoactive substances in school adolescents in the city of Azogues. Methodology: Non-experimental design research descriptiva type of cross-section with quantitative approach. With a sample of 306 adolescents between 15 and 19 years of age from first to third year of high school of the Fiscal Educational Units of the city of Azogues. lt was applied The ASSIST V3.0 questionnaire relatad to the consumption of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs. For process and analyze of the data were used the statistical package SPSS version 25 and Microsoft Excel 2016. Results: The results indicated a high prevalence of alcohol consumption in adolescents enrollad in the last three months with 83.3%, likewise alcohol is the most consumad psychoactive substance with 86.6%, followed by tobacco with 43,8% and cannabis with 13.4%. lt was observad that the age of onset of consumption of psychoactive substances is between 14 and 16 years with 51.3%. Conclusion: lt was determinad a high prevalence of the use of narcotic and psychoactive substances in adolescents. The most consumad substances are alcohol followed by tobacco, cannabis and tranquilizers, being the age of onset between 14 and 16 years.
