Ítem Acceso Abierto Efectos de la SARS-COV2 en el transporte público en el Ecuador con direccionamiento a la ciudad de Cuenca(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) Becerra Cantos, Mateo Enrique; Romero González, Rómulo Ricardo; 0106729551; ., .Public transportation is one of the mobility systems most affected by the pandemic, for this reason, it is important to expose the different economic effects it caused in the urban transportation of the city of Cuenca. This thesis focuses on the interpretation and data processing of the economic losses caused by the pandemic in the first semester of the year 2020, where the population was confined from March 18 until June 1, the date on which public transportation was reopened with restrictions proposed by the Emergency Operations Committee. Through the research conducted by the Mobility, Transit, and Transportation Public Company (EMOV-EP, in Spanish), the Mobility Management Department, and the Municipality of Cuenca; optimal data is obtained to find the Passengers per Kilometer Traveled Index, and thus, count the profits generated by the 475 urban transport units that circulate in the city of Cuenca. Both the research and calculation process were procured from public entities and bibliographic data, establishing a statistical methodology applied to each of the costs generated by a unit of work. The process implemented in the extraction of information and analysis of fixed costs, variable costs, drivers' costs, indirect costs, and office costs is summarized in a report of results. The effects produced by the pandemic in the semesters of 2019-2020 give way to a wide field of study for issues related to transit and statistics.
