Ítem Acceso Abierto Regaetón ó Vivaldi, condicionamiento durante el grooming canino de acuerdo a los gustos del cliente(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Robles Auquilla, Juliana Beatriz; Maldonado Cornejo, Manuel Esteban; 0104192208This research evaluated the impact of two musical genres on calming pets that regularly attend the Grooming service. Two types of music were considered (T1: Vivaldi and T2: Reggaeton), assuming that pets could discern the genre of the most common rhythms to which they are exposed and conditioned by their owners, with Reggaeton being the most common. For this study, a sample of 30 pets was selected; after an interview with pet owners about their musical genre preferences at home, it was compared with classical music (Vivaldi), and it was evidenced that the animals exposed to Vivaldi decreased their heart rate (116 ppm) compared to Reggaeton (p=0, 004), whereas, the other physiological parameters were not affected. It was also observed that the set of 13 stress indicators increased during the consultation (p=0.016), as well as the three comfort signs (p=001). Therefore, in response to the question: Is there an association between the musical preferences of a pet owner and the behavioral and physiological conditioning of a canine during the grooming process? It was concluded that the effect of conditioning on behavioral and physiological responses during the sessions could not be evaluated. However, the decrease in heart rate after the session with classical music established its effect on the pet, while urban music is discriminated by the animal, causing no significant effect.
