Ítem Acceso Abierto Uso de fragmentos de ladrillo tochano provenientes de los residuos de construcción para la fabricación de un mortero de revestimiento(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025-04-22) Rivera Fernández, Karen Daniela; Venegas Tomalá, Andrés Oswaldo; 0350177135Adding recycled aggregates to mortar has become a popular alternative in studies to reduce construction waste. This experimental study evaluates the behavior of mortar when incorporating brick fragments in proportions of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%, based on a literature review of standards and research studies. Laboratory tests were conducted in accordance with regulations to characterize the materials and collect the necessary data for mortar mix design calculations. Finally, mortar cubes are prepared using the NTE INEN 488 standard. The test results indicate that incorporating 20% brick waste meets the minimum compressive strength established in NEC-SE-MP Chapter 10: Masonry Wall Construction. Thus, the study demonstrates that incorporating brick waste is viable and sustainable option for producing environmentally friendly mortar coating. Keywords: mortar, brick waste, coating, sustainable
