Ítem Acceso Abierto Modelado ETABS de estructuras de viviendas con elementos de madera de pino (Pinus Radiata)(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Neira Banegas, Lizbeth Carolina; Soto Cárdenas, María José; Quesada Molina, Juan Felipe; 0107621617; 0106449721Wood has evolved over the years in several construction sectors, but its structural application has been limited due to a lack of technical knowledge. This study aims to characterize the physical and mechanical properties of Pinus radiata wood and integrate them into the structural software ETABS [Extended Three-Dimensional Analysis of Building System.]to evaluate its performance under load conditions. Tests were conducted on four samples to obtain parameters such as modulus of elasticity and strength. These data were incorporated into digital models with orthotropic and isotropic properties within ETABS. Therefore, the study is experimental and comparative, as it contrasted simulated results with real data obtained in the laboratory. The results showed high agreement between the two methods, with a maximum margin of error of 0.85 mm. Furthermore, no significant differences were observed between the orthotropic and isotropic models. The study provides scientific evidence on the viability of using Pinus radiata for structural purposes, promoting its application in structural design. This represents an economic benefit by promoting the use of local materials and a social impact by promoting sustainable and technically validated construction solutions.
