Ítem Acceso Abierto Uso de la válvulas endobronquiales en pacientes con EPOC refractarios al tratamiento y enfisema severo. Revisión Bibliográfica(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Castro Salinas, Jessica Natalia; Cardoso Landivar, José; 0106227408Introduction: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a global public health problem, with a large number of cases reported each year, drastically impacting the quality of life and leading to death. Despite various treatment guidelines for this condition, there is a significant prevalence of patients who do not respond to treatment. Therefore, the objective is to demonstrate that endobronchial valves can be an alternative to improve the quality of life of these patients. Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of endobronchial valves in patients with treatment-refractory chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Methodology: This study collected data from original articles, quantitative studies, and systematic reviews published in the last five years. Data were collected from databases such as Scopus, Redalyc, SciELO, PubMed, Latindex, and Google Scholar, using Boolean operators "And," "Or," and "Not," with no language restrictions. Results: This research aims to describe the efficacy and lifestyle changes in individuals using endobronchial valves, particularly in patients who do not respond favorably to previously established treatments.
