Introduction: Palliative and end-of-life care have emerged as increasingly relevant fields of study and practice in modern medicine. However, despite advancements in medical care, challenges persist in quality care during this critical stage, as it is essential to ensure that patients receive appropriate and dignified care during their final stages of life. Objective: To analyze the quality of care doctors provide at the end of life. Methodology: A qualitative and narrative approach was used to review English and Spanish literature on the quality of end-of-life care. Databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science were searched. The inclusion criteria were based on studies published within the last five years. Results: Several vital processes and elements in care have been identified, including patient-centered care, teamwork, goals, and identification of specific causes. Experts in the field have highlighted the importance of effective communication, both verbal and non-verbal. Conclusions: The research highlights the ethical significance of palliative care, emphasizing the discrepancy between proposed comprehensive care and the prioritization of physical needs.
