Acute pancreatitis is a pathology that is increasing within the population and can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the presentation of complications, both local and systemic. These include the formation of collections, which will require treatment, especially necrotic ones, which increase the patient’s morbidity and mortality and require intervention. If these are associated with an infection, the risk will increase. Since this pathology is uncommon and can be managed via endoscopy, the case of a 19-year-old male patient, mixed race, who attends the Health Center and is diagnosed with acute pancreatitis with an early complication of infected necrotic fluid collection is presented. With confirmatory tests, the definitive diagnosis of necrotic collection accompanied by infection was obtained, so endoscopic necrosectomy was performed. Given the patient’s clinical evolution, it is confirmed that the invasive technique has a lower risk of complications and mortality in the perioperative period, as well as a shorter hospital stay.
