Ítem Acceso Abierto Terapia cognitivo-conductual frente al tratamiento farmacológico en el trastorno del deseo sexual hipoactivo en mujeres.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Lozada Castro, Joseline Tatiana; Mora Idrovo, Tamara Alejandra; Pozo López, Pablo Luis; 0107180333; 0107191868Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD), characterized primarily by the absence of sexual desire, significantly impacts the lives of those affected, including their intimate relationships. This lack of desire cannot be better explained by external factors. The affected population is predominantly female, starting when they are 18 years old, with its incidence increasing with age. Treatment for HSDD is primarily based on a psychological approach based on the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or the use of medications. General objective: To compare the benefits of CBT versus pharmacological treatments for HSDD in women aged 18 to 45 years. Method: A literature review of randomized clinical trials was conducted using the following databases: PubMed, ProQuest, Traylor & Francis, Scopus, and Web of Science. Two independent reviewers selected seven studies using the PRISMA method, which were reviewed and compared to determine which treatment offered greater benefits. The quality of bias was also evaluated using the Consort tool. Results: It was determined that medications reduce the symptoms associated with the disorder, while CBT provides more accurate results and facilitates long-term learning outcomes. Discussion: This systematic review opens the way for research on HSDD and provides a baseline for treatment. However, it was limited by the strict sample selection criteria; this point should be taken into consideration for future studies.
