Ítem Acceso Abierto Eficacia de la terapia cognitivo-conductual en el tratamiento de la anorexia nerviosa en adolescentes: Una revisión sistematizada.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Morocho Guamán, Karen Michelle; Ormaza Ulloa, Luis Miguel; 0107418691Anorexia nervosa is a serious eating disorder that is increasingly affecting adolescents, posing a significant challenge to public health and clinical practice. This disorder has physical repercussions, along with profound psychological and social implications. Given this complexity, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Maudsley Family Therapy (MFT) have emerged as essential interventions in treating adolescents with anorexia nervosa. CBT aims to modify dysfunctional thought patterns and behaviors related to eating and body image. In contrast, MFT actively involves the family, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment throughout the therapeutic process. This systematic review aimed to analyze rigorous scientific studies on the effectiveness of both therapies for adolescents with anorexia nervosa. A search was conducted in the Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and Google Scholar databases, resulting in nine relevant articles for analysis. The findings demonstrate significant effectiveness for CBT and MFT, not only in reducing symptoms but also in enhancing patients’ overall well-being. In conclusion, both therapies have proven to be effective and complementary approaches, providing important clinical benefits in treating anorexia nervosa in the adolescent population.Ítem Acceso Abierto Trastornos de la conducta alimentaria en adolescentes de Latinoamérica: una revisión sistemática(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Bernal Muñoz , Jorge Fernando; Ormaza Ulloa, Luis Miguel; 0302501713Eating disorders (EDs), such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder, are a growing public health concern among adolescents in Latin America, particularly among young women. This systematic review aims to identify the prevalence of EDs in adolescents aged 10 to 19 years in Latin America and to analyze the associated sociocultural factors. A qualitative design following the PRISMA method was used, including studies published between 2019 and 2024 in SCOPUS, Web of Science, and PubMed databases. Inclusion criteria considered epidemiological studies, systematic reviews, and prevalence analyses. The results show that the most prevalent EDs are, in order, bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder. Among the most prominent sociocultural risk factors are social pressure, the influence of social media on body image, low self-esteem, high self-demand, and unattainable beauty standards. Protective factors identified include family and social support, education in healthy eating habits, and access to mental health and nutrition information. Current treatments include hospitalization, psychotherapy, and outpatient services, although barriers such as treatment resistance and high comorbidity persist. The conclusions emphasize the need for an interdisciplinary approach that considers psychological, social, and biological factors, and suggest future research on rural communities and the impact of social media.
