Ecuador is one of the countries that the Venezuelan community has chosen as the main option of transit and stay. Since it is an unknown social situation, it deserves the analysis of the socio-economic condition and the difficulties that this population presents in the different areas, a fundamental reason for the development of research work. The objective of this research is to know the socio-economic factors that affect the integration of the Venezuelan community in a situation of human mobility that currently reside in the city of Cuenca and are beneficiaries of the services of HIAS (Hebrew Organization for Assistance to Immigrants and Refugees); the study has also made it possible to establish an intervention proposal from the perspective of Social Work that contributes to the local insertion of this population. This work was possible to achieve from the analysis of the information obtained from the surveys applied to the beneficiaries of the project that runs HIAS.
- ÍtemSolo MetadatosLas consecuencias del COVID-19 en la situación socioeconómica de las familias ecuatorianas(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2020) Baque Méndez, Verónica Alexandra; González Paqui, Jéssica Paola; Cárdenas Lata, Janneth; 0302850011; 0106758857This research aimed at analyzing the consequences of Covid-19 on the socioeconomic situation of the Ecuadorian families, which was addressed nationwide in the period March August 2020. The objective of this study was to investigate the main consequences brought about by the pandemic. The methodology used is documentary-bibliographic, which has allowed obtaining information from different official sources that will facilitate reliability and veracity regarding the proposed topic; the methods applied were the analytical, deductive, and descriptive ones. Amongst the most relevant results, it is worth mentioning that there has been an effect upon the Ecuadorian families, with a greater incidence on those in a vulnerable situation. Similarly, social factors such as health, education, housing, emotional, and food situations are highlighted, which have had a significant impact on families. Likewise, on the economic side, several Ecuadorian families are experiencing insecurity and instability, triggered by the new adjustments in the workplace, where there have been massive layoffs from the formal sector, resulting in increased unemployment, which currently stands at 13.3%, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses 2020 (INEC, in Spanish), which also highlights the increase in informal work in the country.
