- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoLa actividad física como factor de prevención del sedentarismo en adolescentes de 13-15 años(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Cordero Celdo, Mirian Alicia; Bravo Navarro, Wilson Hernando; 0350297347; ., .This research aims to analyze the Physical Activity level and Sedentary Habits of adolescents at the “Dr. Gabriel Sánchez Luna” Educational Unit through the application of the IPAQ (International Physical Activity Questionnaire) and Sedentary Habits questionnaires to know the lifestyle of this population. The design was non-experimental, with a quantitative approach and a descriptive scope. A non-probabilistic convenience sample of 54 students was used, 30 were males and 24 females aged 13 to 15. It had the authorization of the Educational Unit and proceeded to apply the questionnaires; the answers were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and the SPSS 26 software. The results revealed that Physical Activity levels in male students are higher than in female students; most of the adolescents walk to their place of study. On the other hand, high levels of use of technological devices, such as cell phones, and low computer use were observed.

This research is directed to investigate the favorable and unfavorable sports mental states through validated psychological tests to know the psychological profile of the long-distance athletes from Cañar Sports Federation. The study had a quantitative approach, a non-experimental cross-sectional design, and a descriptive scope as it aimed to assess the psychological state of an athlete's physical performance. The Frester’s Test (psychic load conditions in athletes) and the Temperament Test were used. The study included the entire population, consisting of 13 pre-juvenile middle-distance athletes aged 14 to 17 years (M=17.15), six males, and seven females affiliated with the Sports Federation of Cañar. It was found that the athletes have an optimal temperament for the sports discipline, predominating the sanguine temperament; additionally, they demonstrate appropriate stability in the psychological, social-personal, and success-failure spheres.
- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoMETODOLOGÍA PARA LA ENSEÑANZA DEL REGATE EN EL FÚTBOL CATEGORÍA PRE-JUVENIL(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Cajamarca Curillo, Freddy Geovanny; Bravo Navarro, Wilson Hernando; 0302498357This study aimed to evaluate the dribbling technique of the Azogues Junior football club players through the validated Mor-Christian General Soccer Ability Skill Test Battery to determine the current state of the athletes. The research was non-experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive, with a quantitative approach using non-probabilistic convenience sampling. The sample comprised 20 players from the "Azogues Juniors" football school in Azogues, Cañar, aged 12 to 14 years old. The best results were obtained in the straight line exercise with an average of 11.5 sec., followed by the triangle exercise with a mean of 12.5 sec., and finally, the circle exercise with a time of 12.8 sec. It was found that male players performed better than females in all test exercises. The study was of great importance as it helped to evaluate the current state of the athletes and thus take future actions to improve this technical element. Objective: This study aimed to determine the physical activity level and Body Mass Index (BMI) by applying the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ-C) and BMI calculation to teachers and administrative staff of the Education Academic Unit at the Catholic University of Cuenca Azogues - Campus to propose preventive strategies. Method: The population comprised 22 teachers aged 26 to 62; a PA test was applied using the IPAQ-C questionnaire to know the length of time and intensity of PA performed in the last seven days; the levels were identified, and the BMI was sampled, using the formula weight in kilograms (kg) multiplied by height squared, it indicated their healthy weight. Conclusion: After analyzing the results, it is clear that sports practice and general activities are strategic allies for people to take care of their physical and mental health, thus, preventing our society from being future problems, such as overweight and obesity.
