Comportamientos de riesgo en adolescentes víctimas de sexting.
(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Salto Arízaga , Cristopher; Velecela Lema, Marco; Polo Martínez, Eulalia; 0350344511; 0350005476
Sexting is the practice of sending messages with explicit content either through photos, messages, audio, or videos by using digital devices. Technological advances have led adolescents to seek new ways of communicating and interacting, generating a trend among teenagers; the spread of this erotic content has caused physical and behavioral consequences in its victims. This action results in risk behaviors, which can be voluntary or involuntary and can affect third parties. The main objective of this study was to determine the risk behaviors presented by adolescent victims of sexting and their major psychological consequences. The methodology implemented was qualitative-descriptive, using a literature review that included databases such as SciELO, Redalyc, Dialnet, Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed. The results obtained show that males play the role of aggressors while females are the victims; it was established that risk behaviors among the victims, including sexual practices at an early age, unprotected sex, substance abuse, and isolation, among others, affect their physical, psychological, and social lives. The psychological consequences include depression, anxiety, difficulty in establishing social relationships, low self-esteem, and even suicide.

EL HORMIGÓN ARMADO COMO LENGUAJE FORMAL, ESTRUCTURAL Y MODELADOR DE ESPACIOS EN LA ARQUITECTURA MODERNA: RESIDENCIAS DE PAULO MENDES DA ROCHA (1964-1970)
(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2024) Zambrano León, María Paula; Velez Torres, German Andrés; 0350078382
This study aims to evaluate the impact of reinforced concrete and structural configuration on the generation of spaces and the formal result in residences through reconstruction and comparative study employing matrices to demonstrate the formal values of modern architecture. This research builds upon the historical precedents of Latin American modern architecture to analyze two residential works by the same architect (Paulo Mendes da Rocha) belonging to an architectural movement that appeared in a specific era under social, political, economic, evolutionary contexts and knowledge migration. It highlights the ongoing relevance of Paulo Mendes da Rocha's creations, which, through construction, develop projects that harmoniously integrate with the urban environment and generate flexible and high-quality spaces by manipulating light and using concrete as the primary material.

Introduction: Nosocomial infection management represents one of the most critical challenges in contemporary health care, especially in post-surgical patients requiring intensive care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). These patients, due to the invasive nature of surgical procedures and their poor health status, face a high risk of contracting infections, which can have severe consequences in their recovery process and well-being. Objective: To know or review the existing documentary evidence on the risk factors that predispose to infections in post-surgical patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Method: In this study, it was applied the PRIMA 2020 method, Boolean connections, in the following databases: Dialnet, Medigraphic, Dynamed, SciELO, Elsevier, Redalyc, and Academic Medical Journal “Revista SINERGIA”, which met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: The results were found based on the application of inclusion and exclusion criteria and the analysis of retrospective studies, descriptive studies, literature reviews, manuals, and clinical practice guidelines. Conclusions: The question posed in this research was objectively answered with the several selected studies, showing that the predisposing risk factors for infections in post-surgical patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit are divided into the following categories: patient-related factors such as chronic diseases, malnutrition, age, and immunosuppression; ICU-related factors such as the degree of contamination; and surgery-related factors (types of surgery). Keywords: postoperative infection, surgical site, surgical techniques, predisposing factors, microorganisms

Introduction: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurobiological disorder caused by various abnormalities in the brain. This leads to multifaceted impairments that affect their development and social functioning. Therefore, CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy) and equine therapy are the most widely used treatments for this condition. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of CBT versus equine treatment in children with autism aged 6 to 12 years. Methodology: The research design was a qualitative systematic review based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). Results: The randomized clinical trials examined in this research demonstrated that CBT is a first-line treatment as it has shown its effectiveness in reducing ASD symptoms compared to equine therapy. Conclusions: According to several authors, CBT stands out for providing a therapeutic approach for children with ASD due to its structured and organized stimulation, significantly contributing to behavioral and cognitive aspects. Similarly, equine therapy contributes to improvements in the symptoms of this pathology, offering a better quality of life in the child and adolescent population.

Anthurium andreanum is an ornamental plant of great popularity and acceptance in the floricultural sector due to the shape of its foliage and showy flowers. Unfortunately, conventional sexual and asexual propagation methods are not practical to achieve massive multiplication of this species. Therefore, this research aimed to evaluate the effect of four hormonal combinations, two concentrations of Murashige and Skoog (MS) culture medium, on the in vitro micropropagation of White, Pink, and Orange A. andreanum cultivar (cv.). In consequence, two protocols for disinfection of explants from leaves were tested; the first treatment constituted of 70% Ethanol for 30sec, 0.5% NaClO for 15 min; the second treatment was 70% Ethanol for 1 min, 1 and 0.5% NaClO, for 5 and 15 min respectively. The result was that disinfection protocol number one presented tolerable levels of contamination (20.04%) and browning (36.33%) compared to protocol number two, which showed exuberant levels of browning (97.11%). The optimal culture medium for the micropropagation of A. andreanum of explants from leaves was 50% MS supplemented with 0.5 mg/L−1 of TDZ and 0.2 mg/L−1 of 2-4 D. The Pink cv. exhibited 90% callus formation and 8.5 shoots/explant, the Orange cv. showed 88.3% callus and 3 shoots/explant, and finally, the White cv. only presented 2% callus formation. In future research, it is recommended to test low concentrations of Kinetin and Naphthaleneacetic Acid in White cv.

(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Ortiz Freire, Germania Elizabeth; Claudia Gabriela, Clavijo Rosales; 0105879035
Introduction: monkeypox (MPV) is a rare, self-limiting disease that has occurred in various regions of the world. It is endemic to western and central Africa. At the beginning the symptoms are non-specific such as headache, asthenia, lethargy, myalgia and fever that begins before the appearance of skin eruptions which go through stages of evolution (ranging from macules to scabs). Objective: to describe the clinical characteristics of monkeypox in adults. Methods: a bibliographic review was carried out, through an electronic search in the main databases (PubMed, Taylor & Francis, Scopus and ScienceDirect). It was included articles published between January 01 st, 2018 and October 25th, 2022. Results: characteristics of monkeypox at different stages of the disease were identified. Among the most prevalent lesions are vesiculopustular skin lesions, followed by fever, headache and pruritus; and among the least frequent were arthralgia, myalgia, odynophagia, and lesions in the oral and perioral region. Conclusions: it is concluded that there are different clinical characteristics in each stage of monkeypox
