dc.descriptionLa creación de un terminal terrestre intermodal, beneficia la conectividad entre la movilidad y el comercio en la ciudad, formando parte de un sistema de transporte ordenado y eficiente para los pasajeros que se mueven dentro y fuera de la provincia del Azuay. En este sentido, el presente trabajo de titulación plantea un anteproyecto para un nuevo terminal intermodal en la ciudad de Cuenca, potencializando el transporte terrestre en la provincia, a través del diseño de un nuevo equipamiento que ayudará las necesidades de la alta demanda de pasajeros y a las unidades de transporte. Para lograr este objetivo, se realiza un estudio de la zona mediante un análisis detallado de Laura Gallardo para ubicar la zona del equipamiento; Conjuntamente se analizan estudios de referentes internacionales, para comprender como funciona la movilidad en otros terminales y que aportaran ideas e información para la elaboración de un nuevo terminal en Narancay, lugar del emplazamiento para nuevo terminal terrestre intermodal de Cuenca, de esta manera, el sistema de transporte mejorará, recuperando el orden y la seguridad para los pasajeros y una adecuada distribución de las unidades de transporte. Sin duda, el Terminal Intermodal Sur marcará un avance urbano importante en el sistema de movilidad en la provincia y en la ciudad.
dc.description.abstractCreating an intermodal terminal benefits the connectivity between mobility and commerce in the city, forming part of an organized and efficient transportation system for passengers traveling within and outside the province of Azuay. Thus, this paper proposes a blueprint for a new intermodal terminal in Cuenca, enhancing land transportation in the province through the design of new infrastructures that help to meet the needs of the high demand of passengers and transportation units. A study of the area is conducted to achieve this objective through a detailed analysis of Laura Gallardo to locate the area of the infrastructure. International benchmark studies are also being analyzed to learn how mobility works in other terminals.This will provide ideas and information for developing a new terminal in Narancay –the chosen site for Cuenca’s new terrestrial intermodal terminal–. Therefore, the transportation system will be improved, order and safety for passengers will be recovered, and an adequate distribution of transport units will be provided. Undoubtedly, the southern intermodal terminal will represent an essential urban advancement in the mobility system in the province and the city.
