Eficacia de la terapia de presión negativa en comparación con el tratamiento convencional en úlceras por presión

Resumen
Background: pressure ulcers or decubitus ulcers are lesions caused by the persistent crushing of some vulnerable area of the body, affected patients can be of any age, as long as they have a state of inability of mobility together with a poor nutritional status. Taking into account the time required for the healing of this type of injuries, as well as the amount of resources and the complications it presents, different therapies have been tried, from wet cures to the most current ones such as negative pressure therapies.
Aim: to compare negative pressure therapy with conventional therapy for pressure ulcers.
Methodology: a bibliographic review was carried out in the following scientific databases: PubMed, Scopus, and LILACS. Results: with the research it was possible to weigh the therapies applied for the management of pressure ulcers, being exposed the benefits of the different types of dressings used in conventional therapy and negative pressure therapy.
Conclusions: conventional therapy is preferred in stage I, II and III ulcers, while, negative pressure therapy is used in stage IV ulcers combined or not with conventional therapy.

Antecedentes: Las úlceras por presión o úlceras de decúbito son lesiones causadas por el aplastamiento persistente de alguna zona vulnerable del cuerpo, los pacientes afectados pueden tener cualquier edad, en tanto cuenten con un estado de incapacidad de movilidad conjuntamente con un estado nutricional deficiente. Teniendo en cuenta el tiempo que requiere la cicatrización de este tipo de lesiones, así como también, la cantidad de recursos y las complicaciones que presenta se han probado distintas terapias desde las curas húmedas hasta las más actuales como terapias de presión negativa.
Objetivo: Comparar la terapia de presión negativa con la terapia convencional para úlceras por presión.
Metodología: Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica, en las bases de datos científicos de acceso: PubMed, Scopus, y LILACS.
Resultados: Con la investigación se pudo sopesar las terapias aplicadas para el manejo de úlceras por presión, siendo expuestos los beneficios de los distintos tipos de apósitos usados en la terapia convencional y la terapia de presión negativa.
Conclusiones: La terapia convencional se prefiere en úlceras estadio I, II y III, mientras que, la terapia de presión negativa se usa en úlceras estadio IV combinada o no con la terapia convencional.
