There are countries in the process of quarantine worldwide, and others have emerged from this change with serious restrictions to live a new reality, with strict processes of care respecting biosecurity protocols that prevent contagion and spread, which mainly affect the respiratory system and complicate the health status of those individuals who have secondary diseases, the elderly as a group of priority attention are directly affected. For that reason, this study proposed as an objective to identify socio affective communication in the elderly's daily life before the COVID 19. Additionally, it was conducted a bibliographic analysis; and as a method, it was used deductive and descriptive. Within the results, it was identified that a socio-affective communication does not exist, concluding that the activities that were performed in their daily life, today the elderly cannot do their daily activities normally and this affects their biopsycho-social state.
- ÍtemSolo MetadatosFactores psicosociales que influyen en los jóvenes consumidores de sustancias psicotrópicas en los centros de adicciones de la ciudad de Cuenca.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2018) León Sánchez, Andrea Estefanía; Fernández Aucapiña, Nancy Yolanda; 0705356905The purpose of the research was to recognize psychosocial factors that influence young people the consumption of psychotropic substances in addiction centers of the City of Cuenca, considering a group of forty-seven (47) people between men and women, who are in therapy process in the Therapeutic Rehabilitation Center Love an Life "Centeravid", and the Psychological and Psychotherapy Specialty center "Exitus" during the period between March-August 2017. The theoretical foundation was established according to an analysis of the studies carried out by the World Health Organization (WHO); in addition of presenting information that establishes the rates of consumption and classification of substances admitted in Latin America as well as the consumption of drugs and associated factors by population, in this case from fifteen (15) to sixty-five (65) years. The methodology that was applied is the descriptive, inductive-deductive method, (Surveys, interviews with inmates, analysis and understanding of the results). After the process, it was possible to identify which are the main psychosocial factors that induce young people the consumption of several psychotropic substances. Therefore, concluding with an intervention proposal focused on users who attend rehabilitation centers named "Intervention from a Social work perspective in addiction rehabilitation processes", in order to improve their lifestyle and to assist their social and family reintegration.

- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoSobrecarga del cuidador con pacientes paliativos en la fundación al servicio del enfermo de cáncer Lola Farfán de Palacios “Fasec” Cuenca-Ecuador(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Cuzco Arpi, Veronica Andrea; Sari Aguilar, Lourdes Maribel; Fernández Aucapiña, Nancy Yolanda; 0105345060; 0104497805In recent years, there have been intense debates about the decisive factors impacting the well-being of palliative caregivers since their role involves emotional, physical, economic, and social strain, with notable repercussions on the caregiver’s quality of life, the family, and their immediate environment. Therefore, this research aimed to determine the factors influencing palliative patient caregivers. The methodology used was quantitative, descriptive in scope, and cross-sectional. Data were collected through surveys, and subsequently, the information was processed using the PSPP statistical software. It was observed that the stress presented by the caregiver is related to caregiving; it is also linked to the dependency level, economic sufficiency, and the affective bond shared with the patient. In conclusion, it is fundamental to understand the incident factors to promote the caregiver's health and emotional balance. It was identified that social support from formal and informal networks or programs is necessary for enhancing the caregiver's quality of life.
- ÍtemSolo MetadatosEl trabajador social y su intervención en el área gerontológica en la ciudad de Cuenca(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2020) Delgado Cevallos, Daniela Vanessa; Fernández Aucapiña, Nancy Yolanda; 0105531065Social work in the gerontological area demands a multidisciplinary intervention, therefore the social worker must develop a thorough intervention that covers the older adult from its global context, supported by the use of techniques, tools, instruments, among other essential components of praxis. For the development of the research, the general objective was "to analyze the intervention developed by the social worker in the gerontological area of the city of Cuenca, in the period September 2019 - February 2020". The methodology used was the culi/quantitative method, the data collection technique was the structured survey with open and closed questions, applied to the entire population. Based on the results obtained in the study, it is evident the absence of professionals in the area of Social Work in the different Gerontological centers that were considered as the object of this research process. Of the eleven centers that were surveyed, only four have Social Work professionals in their interdisciplinary team; it was also evidenced that the Social Work professionals focus their intervention on the bio-psychosocial wellbeing of the older adult, empowering capacities from an individual, group and community level.
