Single-episode PBL was used to teach Global Bioethics. Active learning methods, group work and the solution of a real contextual problem (Is the ban on GMOs in Ecuador ethical?) were used using the 5E technique. The teaching tasks were face-to-face and virtual in university spaces and real environments. The PBL was evaluated by qualitative methods. A positive impact on learning was confirmed with an increase in the level of assimilation of students towards deep learning. The students and teacher satisfaction with the PBL method was high.
