- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoRespuesta de la estimulación ovárica con la aplicación epidural de FSH-P en ovejas mestizas(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Saldaña Brito, Felix Ignacio; Alvarado, Juan Carlos; 0105709505The study aimed to assess the effects on ovarian response in 12 Pelibuey crossbred ewes divided into three treatments with two replicates each: T1, epidural FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone)-p plus eCG (Equine Chorionic Gonadotropin); T2, FSH-p via intramuscular injection (IM) plus eCG; T3, eCG via intramuscular injection. Intravaginal sponges containing 50 mg of medroxyprogesterone acetate were placed for 15 days in all three treatments. On the seventh day, the sponge was changed and combined with D-cloprostenol at a dose of 0.23 mg (IM) to measure the response of some variables to ovarian stimulation with or without the application of epidural FSH-p to quantify the amount of FSH in blood at 0, 8, 24, 32, and 48 hours, and to determine the number of follicles and oocytes recovered per ovary. Blood plasma FSH levels, ovarian stimulation, percentage of recovery, and oocyte quality were similar between treatments (P ≥ 0.05). In addition, a chi-square analysis of oocyte quality revealed no significant differences between groups. Thus, the associativity values are as follows: between A and B, p =0.082; between A and C, p=0.731; for A and D, p= 0.949; for B and C, p=0.432; between B and D, p=0.221; finally, for categories C and D, p= 0.903. In conclusion, the plasma FSH concentration and oocyte quality were similar between treatments. However, in the number of follicles and oocytes recovered variables, the application with epidural FSH-p obtained better results
