Ítem Acceso Abierto Morbilidad y mortalidad en pacientes con EPOC y enfermedades coronias: Una revisión sistemática(Universidad Católica de Cuenca, 2023) Carchi Yauri, Gabirela Patricia; Loja Chicaiza, Wilson Alfredo; Rodriguez Pañora, Patricia Elizabeth; 060569567-5; 030298225-1Introduction: The morbimortality of COPD patients worldwide represents an annual growth rate of 13%, while in coronary heart disease, it presents 20% per year; consequently, these two pathologies, in the last decades, have become the leading causes of morbimortality in the planet. All this is highlighted due to the connection between these diseases; it should be understood that both pulmonary and cardiovascular systems are closely related, forming a cardiopulmonary axis. Objective: To determine morbidity and mortality in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and coronary heart disease patients. Methodology: This work has a qualitative-quantitative approach, thanks to the descriptive scope, which is based on using the PRISMA method, which uses information from different virtual libraries provided by the web by applying variables and inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: Thirty-five articles were obtained for the study (SciELO 9; PubMed 17; the Catholic University of Cuenca Repository 5; Medline 5; Scopus 3; Elsevier 4), with which categories of analysis were created, the same that are focused on morbidity and mortality in individuals with these respiratory and cardiac pathologies. Conclusion: Coronary heart disease and COPD are closely linked; in addition to being the leading causes of mortality and morbidity in the world, their rate is increasing due to the lack of the creation of public policies for their respective management. Keywords: morbidity, mortality, patients, COPD, coronary disease.
