Revisión bibliográfica.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Landívar Villagómez, Mateo José; Villavicencio Caparó, Ebingen; 01056097962 Abstract Dental malocclusion is a prevalent problem and considered a priority within the scale of oral pathologies. It can be classified as Class I, Class II, and Class III. On the other hand, the socioeconomic level can be defined as a factor of social influence, purchasing power, or economic status. There is a direct relationship between malocclusion and socioeconomic level, with a lower prevalence in high socioeconomic levels and an increased prevalence in low socioeconomic levels. Objective: To identify the relationship between socioeconomic level and dental malocclusion through a literature review. Materials and methods: A systematic search of articles was conducted using databases like PubMed, SciELO, Google Scholar, and LILACS, focusing in the field of dentistry. Conclusions: There is an association between socioeconomic level and malocclusions. The main socioeconomic determinants are education, low income, and access to health care. The groups most affected by this relationship are infants and vulnerable groups.
