Today remains in practice within the Shuar community, in Morona Santiago. That is why the search for protection from the State arises for the victims represented by a high rate of children, adolescents and women who live under the subordination of a family authority within their community. The perpetrator who, in the abuse of his power, attacks the sexual and reproductive integrity of those they consider vulnerable. Unfortunately, these aggressors remain unpunished in the province that has historically ignored and normalized these behaviors relevant to criminal law, due to the idiosyncrasy of maintaining a state of innocence, ignoring the importance of the Comprehensive Organic Criminal Code.
