MATERIALS AND METHODS: it has been made a bibliographic review of the scientific literature through EBSCOhost, PubMed, SciELO, Scopus, Web of Science, there were no restrictions in relation to language, the articles were considered from the year 2000 to the present date, it were taken consideration literature review publications, in vitro studies, in vivo studies, with a total of 93 articles considered for the realization of this work. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS: From the articles, the greater source that has been reported for the different applications is those of dental pulp stem cells, used to reparative and regenerative processes of dental cells and tissues, as well as ocular tissues, articular surfaces, bone , and facial skull defects; To a lesser extent, articles were found describing the usefulness of stem cells from the periodontal ligament, cells from the apical papilla and from deciduous teeth, with an application directed in a greater proportion to the repair of periodontal tissues and support structures; ; It can conclude that Dental Stem Cells have acquired great importance in recent years due to the various properties it possess, becoming promising cells for different areas of health, especially in Dentistry, since experimental and clinical studies validate their use in specialties such as Oral Surgery and Endodontics.
