Abstract Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has presented significant challenges to global healthcare systems, demanding a rapid response from medical professionals and political leaders. However, amid the urgency of the pandemic response, ethical considerations have been at risk of being neglected. This protocol outlines a literature review of the bioethical aspects of the COVID-19 crisis, focusing on the ethical considerations that have emerged during the response to the pandemic. The review will provide information on the ethical challenges healthcare professionals and policymakers face during the pandemic and identify areas for future research to enhance ethical decision-making. Objective: To analyze the bioethical issues that have emerged during the COVID-19 crisis. Methodology: A narrative literature review will be the methodological design of this research project. Results: The aim is to gather information from each research project, including data such as the year of publication, authors, and obtained results. Based on the information gathered, the main bioethical issues that have emerged during the COVID-19 crisis and how they have been addressed in the scientific and ethical literature will be analyzed. Conclusions: In conclusion, society has faced enormous ethical and moral problems due to the COVID-19 epidemic, particularly in the medical and scientific sectors. From a bioethical point of view, decision-making during emergencies should be guided by the fundamental ethical principles, along with particular recommendations for addressing the ethical issues of the pandemic.
