- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoLa dignidad humana en la autopsia médico legal.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Cuesta Reinoso, Juan Fernando; Pacheco Solano, Jaime; 0105816284Forensic medicine is a discipline that combines medical and legal knowledge to address issues of health, law, and justice. Medico-legal autopsy plays a fundamental role in determining the causes and circumstances of death, always respecting human dignity. Human dignity must prevail in forensic medicine, guaranteeing respect for the rights and privacy of the deceased and their families. The study of death analyzes the processes related to the end of life and the phenomenon of death. Early and late cadaveric phenomena provide information about the decomposition of the corpse. Criminal investigation gathers evidence to identify the perpetrators of a crime. During the medico-legal autopsy, rights such as privacy and confidentiality of medical information must be protected. Mechanisms such as clear protocols, informed consent, staff training, and transparency are proposed to avoid infringing on human dignity.
