Therefore, nursing models and theories represent a practical basis for the nurse to determine the profession's role focused on activities and interventions. Main objective: to analyze the nursing theories and models applied in Latin America. Methodology: a bibliographic review was carried out using 56 articles selected from different databases, which answered the research questions posed in the study. Results: through the analysis of different scientific articles, it was found that the nursing models applied in Latin America are those of Callista Roy, Dorothea Orem, Florence Nightingale, Virginia Henderson, and Madeline Leininger. Conclusion: The models with the most significant application are those of Henderson, Nightingale, and Orem since they have demonstrated several benefits in practice and helped meet the proposed care objectives. However, their application will vary according to each country.
