Ítem Acceso Abierto Evaluación de respuesta epidemiológica durante la pandemia covid-19. In 2019, COVID-19 emerged, which later became a pandemic bringing with it social, economic, and health changes, leading to the speedy response of health systems around the world. Objective: To evaluate the epidemiological response during the COVID-19 pandemic and thereby contribute to a study that can serve as a background for future research. Material and method: A systematic review of the literature was carried out using the PRISMA method for article selection. The search criteria were based on the keywords: epidemiological response, level of care, COVID-19, and pandemic, concatenated with logical AND connectors. Articles published in the last five years both in English and Spanish were filtered; finally, 33 articles oriented to the proposed theme were analyzed. Results: There is an agreement in the investigations regarding the appearance and evolution of COVID -19, as well as the activation of the epidemiological responses of international organizations, as well as at the country level, whose fundamental objective was to contain the spread of the disease. Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic is an emerging disease that appeared in 2019 in Wuhan, triggering changes in all spheres of people's lives, especially in health, since, there were no containment strategies in the country for health emergencies such as the current one, leading to prevention strategies based on epidemiological responses.
