Ítem Acceso Abierto Ética como eje transversal en la formación universitaria de trabajo social en Ecuador(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) Barrera Buestán, Jorge René; Sarango Cedillo, Danilo Vladimir; Fernandez Aucapiña, Nancy Yolanda; 0105629760; 0105271365University education with little or no content related to ethics is a latent problem in higher education institutions in Ecuador and society in general, in the face of professional ethics sullied by acts of indifference, corruption, and even professional negligence; although the Organic Law of Higher Education considers that university education should train academics and professionals with ethical and solidarity conscience. In this scenario, the objective of the research was to analyze ethics as a transversal axis in the university formation of Social Work in Ecuador. The methodology used was based on the descriptive and inductive methods, its approach was qualitative with a transversal time cut, the techniques used were the semi-structured interview directed to a sample of directors/managers of the Social Work careers, and the qualitative content analysis technique studied the study plans of the universe of Higher Education Institutions that have the Social Work career in Ecuador. The results highlight the importance of ethics as a fundamental pillar in the formation of Social Work, to create professionals committed to social change and progress, as well as its consequent influence on professional praxis. In conclusion, in Ecuador, the formation of Social Work regarding ethics reveals a contradictory deficiency with the professional profile, due to the scarce and even null presence of subjects related to ethics, recommending the implementation of this as a transversal axis policy.
