Ítem Solo Metadatos Encefalopatía Hepática en el paciente Cirrótico(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) Aguirre Salazar, Ana Belén; Crespo Vintimilla, Edgar Adriano; 1721234142; ., .Hepatic encephalopathy is a clinical syndrome that complicates patients with portal hypertension and liver cirrhosis. lts clinical picture is characterized because the patient presents alterations in the level of consciousness and neuropsychiatric manifestations having a great impact on patients due to the deterioration of their quality of life. lts diagnosis is based on clinical criteria after an excellent anamnesis and an adequate physical examination, However, it has become a diagnostic challenge due to the lack of an ideal test for its detection because several neuropsychological and psychometric tests will serve as a complement to assess the memory capacity, attention deficit, or psychomotor speed of the patient. In addition, there are management strategies based on nutritional support accompanied by drugs such as rifampin, lactulose, and currently polyethylene glycol. Finally, both types of primary or secondary prophylaxis are included, it depends on the patient's needs.
