Ítem Acceso Abierto "Cuidados de enfermería en el adulto mayor con problemas de Insuficiencia Cardíaca Congestiva (ICC)"(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) Albarracín Pintado, María Alexandra; Rodríguez Quezada, Fanny Cecilia; 0105883714This paper deals with the nursing care in the elderly with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), considered as a chronic condition, causing the heart not to pump enough blood to cover the body's needs. Objective: To conduct a literature review on nursing care in the elderly with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). Methodology: The search for information and literature research was performed in the following databases: Scopus, Science Direct, Taylor & Francis, Web Of Science, Pubmed, Proquest, Redalyc, and Scielo, additionally, in institutional pages, such as the World Health Organization and Pan American Health Organization; inclusion criteria: field publications between 2017 and 2021 made in Spanish, Portuguese and English. Results: congestive heart failure (CHF) is a pathology of higher prevalence in people aged 65 to 80 years, the therapeutic approach should be assumed by a multidisciplinary team, while the role of nursing staff in the care of older adults with congestive heart failure (CHF) is fundamental. Conclusions: Congestive Heart Failure has a high prevalence rate in older people because the risk factors that can trigger it are chronic diseases, that is why the care of a multidisciplinary team is important, being nursing care fundamental for the recovery of patients.
