The search was carried out in the PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Taylor and Francis, Proquest databases between June 01, 2019 and June 01, 2023. For the search strategy, terms such as "Renal Colic ”, “Corticosteroids”, “Pain”, “Treatment”, “Methylprednisolone”. The Boolean operator of choice was “AND”. In PubMed, 11 articles were found, 21 studies in Scopus, 19 in Taylor and Francis, 2 in Web of Science and 22 in Proquest. Conclusion and relevance: It is concluded that corticosteroids are not used within the first-line treatment scheme for renal colic, however, in combination with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, they help reduce vegetative symptoms such as nausea and vomiting.
