Ítem Acceso Abierto Relación del maltrato emocional, bienestar psicológico subjetivo e inteligencia emocional en estudiantes universitarios de Cuenca.(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2025) Rodríguez Salto., María Johanna; Cevallos Pilaquinga , Viviana Lisseth; Paredes, Verónica; 0150170199; 0350182762Emotional abuse is one of the most common types of psychological abuse that does not involve physical aggression during childhood, with the potential to negatively impact long-term psychological health, particularly in early adulthood. University students are especially vulnerable to these consequences, which could alter their Subjective Well-Being (SWB) and Emotional Intelligence (EI). However, how these variables interact within this population is not yet fully understood. The objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between SWB, emotional abuse, and EI in university students from Cuenca. The methodology used is observational since the variables of interest were not manipulated but observed as they appeared in their environment. The methodological approach is quantitative, using standardized instruments such as the Psychological Well-being Scale, the Adverse Childhood Experiences International Questionnaire, and the Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale; descriptive and inferential statistical techniques were applied. The results showed a low prevalence of students with a history of emotional abuse, with the female population being the most affected. SWB and EI levels were found to be within normal ranges despite a history of emotional abuse in childhood. When correlating the variables, it was found that there is no correlation between the age of abuse and the SWB and EI levels in the population with a history of abuse. However, a direct correlation between SWB and EI was observed.
