Item type: Ítem , Access status: Acceso Abierto , Influencia de la práctica deportiva en la salud mental de adolescentes: revisión bibliográfica(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2026) Rivadeneira Solórzano, Jorge LuisThis research analyzes the influence of sports practice on adolescents’ mental health through a rigorous systematic review based on the standards of the PRISMA 2020 statement. Its main objective was to systematize the current empirical evidence linking regular and structured physical exercise with improvements in mental health, including the reduction of symptoms such as anxiety and depression, as well as increased well-being and strengthened self-esteem during adolescence. In this systematic review, a search was conducted in high-impact databases such as PubMed, Scielo, and Redalyc, applying inclusion criteria such as methodological quality, avoidance of duplicate studies, and age range. The findings reveal that physical activity acts as an important modulating factor in emotional homeostasis. It is concluded that the implementation of sports promotion programs in the school setting constitutes an essential preventive tool that enhances the comprehensive development of students. Finally, this study emphasizes the urgency of integrating educational programs that go beyond traditional physical education, promoting sport as a transversal pillar of youth public health. It also recommends the need for further studies in order to design early intervention protocols based on physical exercise. The general objective was to conduct a literature review on methodological strategies with a play-based approach applied to formative swimming instruction. A descriptive, cross-sectional study design was employed, using a bibliographic review approach. The selection of sources included theses, scientific articles, academic journals, and specialized documents derived from Latin American research conducted by authors from Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Chile, and Mexico. The inclusion and exclusion of articles were carried out using reliable databases such as Scopus, Scielo, PubMed, and Google Scholar, accessible through the library of the Catholic University of Cuenca. Publications from 2019 to 2025 were included, while studies published between 2010 and 2018 were excluded. The search terms used were: methodological strategies, play-based swimming, children's swimming, and teaching and learning of swimming. The search process identified 37 documents, of which 20 articles were selected and incorporated into the literature review matrix. In conclusion, the literature review demonstrates that formative swimming for children is a sports discipline with multiple benefits that promotes children’s holistic development. Furthermore, the incorporation of play-based methodological strategies through games enables the instructor to act as a facilitator in the teaching and learning process of fundamental aquatic motor skills. Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze the effects of explosive strength training on the technical performance of youth karate athletes through a bibliographic review. The research was structured as a systematic review following the PRISMA model, for which nine scientific articles from high-impact databases were selected. The findings consistently reveal that training methods such as plyometrics and core strengthening produce significant improvements in key physical performance metrics, including lower-body power and jumping ability. Furthermore, these physical gains translate directly into enhanced technical performance, where lower-body power improves kicking speed and core strength ensures the stability required for effective execution. It is concluded that explosive strength training is a highly effective strategy for enhancing the conditional physical capacities that are decisive for youth karate athletes. However, there is a need for future research to overcome the reliance on physical tests as the sole indicators of progress. The study was conducted under a qualitative, descriptive approach, based on a systematic search for information in reliable scientific databases. The collected results were systematized in a literature review matrix, an instrument that analytically integrated the contributions of each consulted source. The findings indicate that technologies such as heart rate monitors, power meters, data analysis platforms, and digital tools have become fundamental instruments for the objective quantification of training load in cycling. It is concluded that the systematic and methodologically appropriate use of these technologies contributes to the optimization of the training process and to improved performance in competitive cycling.
