Neuroendocrine dysfunction, steroidogeneses and folliculogenesis dysfuncion, as well, as metabolic alterations such as obesity and diabetes among others, have been reported as risk factors. Some clinical diagnostic criteria have been established, the most widely used nowadays is the Rotterdam one, wich indicates the presence of 2/3 ofthe following statements: olog-or anovulation, clinical and/or biochemical signs of hyperandrogenism and polycystic ovarian morphology by ultrasonography. GENERAL OBJETIVE: To describe the factors related to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome in Teenagers. METHODOLOGY: A systematic study of prior scientific reviews, scientific papers concerning PCOS and its most important issues Will be carried out. RESULTS: PCOS happens in prepuberal stages so it is not accurately diagnosed, as changes that occur in teenagers bodies are almost similar to those that happen in polycystic ovary syndrome. CONCLUSIONS: We therefore conclude that the main risk factors for developing polycystics ovary syndrome include neuroendocrine dysfunction, steroidogenesis and ovarian folliculogenesis dysfuction and adrenal disorders, as well as insulin resistance and metabolic disordes such as obesity and diabetes.
