- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoComplicaciones aguadas de la Diabetes Mellitus Tipo II por la mala adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico: Revisión bibliográfica(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) Moscoso Salazar, Inés Tatiana; Altamirano Cordero, Luisa Cecilia; 0302932959; ., .Introduction: Diabetes is an endocrinological nosology and it is part of the chronic non-communicable diseases, not reversible very common, establishing itself as an worldwide health issue, it is an important stage of emergency medicine, it can develop: ketosis, hyperosmolar coma and hypoglycemia, it can manifest as a result of several factors coupled both with the patient and health service and among them poor adherence to drug treatment as a primary triggering factor. Objective: To develop a bibliographic review on the subject, its appearance because of poor adherence to pharmacological treatment, starting from the understanding of diabetes itself. Methodology: A review of scientific sources: Google Scholar, Pubmed, Redalyc, Scielo, Recimundo through keywords as: Diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperglycemic hyperosmolar state, hypoglycemia, scientific articles of entities that deal with subject during the last 5 years. Results: The patient's own factors and those with health system weak adherence which are: severity of the disease, level of schooling, socioeconomic level, short consultations, lack of capacity to educate patients and provide follow-up, problems in delivering medication to patients. Conclusions: Poor adherence to treatment which causes the appearance of these complications due to poor control of the hyperglycemic state, errors in dosage or omission of doses.
