- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoEl ajedrez como estrategia pedagógica para el fortalecimiento de los procesos cognitivos(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2021) Guamán Guamán, Luis Alejandro; Bravo Navarro, Wilson; 0302715883; ., .Physical Education is generally linked to physical activity only, when disciplines such as chess, which are developed in a cognitive space and can also contribute to improving academic performance in other areas, can also be encouraged. Unfortunately, this sport is not implemented in educational institutions despite its benefits. In this sense, the objective of this research was to know a bibliographic analysis the valuation of chess as part of the strategies that contribute to pedagogical practices. The research method was the bibliographic review, conducted by means of a systematic method based on keywords for the search, and inclusion and exclusion criteria for the selection of researches. The results show that there is concordance in the references regarding the benefits of chess in the academic performance and the development of cognitive skills in the students, including, also at a social and emotional level. The conclusions of the research agree with the suggestions issued by UNICEF, to implement these activities as part of the curriculum at all educational levels, considering its extensive benefits in the academic context. It is observed, however, that it is still necessary to investigate the teaching methods, and the need for Physical Education teachers who want to approach this teaching methods, and the need for Physical Education teachers who want to approach this teaching process, to specialize in the game, as well as in its pedagogy, in order to be able to teach it adequately and, in turn, to make the best possible use of it.
- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoEvaluación de la velocidad de reacción en porteros infantiles de fútbol sala(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Pesantez Pensatez, Sebastian Israel; Bravo Navarro, Wilson; 0350093092This research aimed to assess the development of reaction speed in the goalkeepers of the Futsal School of Azogues and Biblián city by applying validated field tests to obtain a current state of physical capacity. The study presented a non-experimental-transversal design with a descriptive scope and quantitative approach; the sample was the entire population, consisting of 36 football players; it comprised seven women and 29 men from 12 to 15 years old (M=13). The Illinois and the Tapping Tests were applied. It was determined that the 12-year-old children had better reaction speed than the 13-year-old children; thus, due to the age difference, they demonstrated better performance than those in the older category and could further improve with specific training. Moreover, among positions, goalkeepers showed better performance than outfield players. It was determined that the male sex reacts better in the dominant hand than the non-dominant hand. As for positions, there was not much difference between goalkeepers and players, as well as in age.

This study is ficld rcscarcb bccausc it is a methood to get information data directly from reality and apply through data collection techniques, it is of longitudinal cut that refers to the researchers can take note of lhe changes that present in the qualities of the members, make observations and detect any kind of change, and has a mixed approach. The sample participating in this research is comprised of 38 adults between tbe ages of 18 and 46 years old, 25 men and 18 women. The instrument used to conduct the study was a muscle strength test va lidatcd by the author Bosco in 2002. The processing of the information and analysis of the results was developed using the SPSS 25.05 system, which is presented through tables, graphs, frequencies, and percentages. The participants of the Energym gym increased their strength levels in the incline bench press, rowing, squat, dead weight, after the application of tbe repetitive method during the training sessions in a period of 3 months.
- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoNecesidades psicológicas básicas en adolescentes en la asignatura de educación física(Universidad Católica de Cuenca., 2023) Lojano Teapan, Nancy Jackeline; Bravo Navarro, Wilson; 0106104870; ., .This research aims to determine the Basic Psychological Needs of adolescents in Physical Education (PE) classes by applying validated questionnaires to establish their satisfaction with these classes. This investigation had a non-experimental-transversal design with a quantitative approach and correlational scope. One hundred students were sampled, 56 women and 44 men, from 14 to 18 years, of the ‘Febres Cordero’ and ‘Roberto Rodas’ Educational Units- The Measurement of Basic Psychological Needs (BPN) and Satisfaction Scale in Physical Education (SEF by its Spanish acronym) were applied. The highest average was obtained in the ‘fun’ dimension with a value of 3.66, and the lowest value was recorded for ‘boredom’ with 2.46. All dimensions correlated positively, except boredom, which related negatively. Students mostly have a high level of enjoyment, so it has been understood that by having contact with others and having a competitive activity, they have a higher motivation and tend to be more active; therefore, their satisfaction with performing physical activity is higher.

Engaging in physical activities offers physical and psychological benefits. In this sense, functional training has become popular by comprehensively improving physical condition. Therefore, this research aimed to apply a functional training plan through strength, , and speed exercises to enhance physical capacities in individuals attending the Taurus Gym in Azogues City. A pre-experimental study was conducted with a quantitative approach, longitudinal design, and explanatory scope. The study population consisted of 250 people who attended this sports center. Through a non-probabilistic sampling by convenience, n=30 men and women aged 30 to 65 (M=33.9) were selected to participate in the functional training sessions held in the morning. The instruments employed in this study included designed tests to evaluate strength, endurance, and speed. The SPSS Statistics 26 software was used to tabulate and analyze the results. The results obtained in this study were favourable, demonstrating an improvement in physical capacities, especially in speed. These outcomes lead to the conclusion that functional training is an effective tool for improving the skills of people who practice it.

Cordova" in the canton of Cañar, because of a misuse of technology are becoming more physically inactive; for this, we analyzed the practice of physical activity in them. This research has a population of 517 students, with a sample of 221 students, a non-experimental design was used, with a cross-sectional descriptive scope, with a qualitative approach because an interpretative analysis was made on the data obtained through the application of questionnaires (PAQ-A) and questionnaire of sedentary sociodemographic activities. It was determined that 44% of the population perform different physical activities or practice some type of sport, a minimum of students reach the levels of physical activity recommended by the WHO, which are 3 days per week, the levels of phys ical activity of the students were analyzed, It is evident that the time spent in the practice of physical activity in a large percentage is insufficient since most of the population does not have the necessary interest in the practice of it, causing a greater abandonment of their educational and social life, because of a large percentage use technological advances.
